NORMAN, Okla. – The Angelo State Track & Field teams wrapped up competition at the J.D. Martin Invitational hosted by Oklahoma on Saturday, claiming top marks in multiple events at the Mosier Indoor Track Facility.
The Rambelles 4x400-meter relay team turned in the top performance as
Shiean Walters,
Zykia McDaniel,
Maricia Spence, and
Shadae Findley combined for a time of 3:50.09, finishing nearly 17 seconds faster than second place. Findley also finished fifth overall in the women's mile, running a time of 5:22.85.
Spence took fourth overall in the 60-meter hurdles, finishing at 8.90 followed by
Anna Riccomagno in seventh at 9.27. Riccomagno also finished top 10 in the high jump, taking eighth overall with a mark of 1.55m (5'-1").
The Belles had three athletes earn a top 10 mark in the pole vault as
Kylyie Paden and
Camryn Barros tied for sixth at 3.45m (11'-3.75") while
Coryn Peters took 10
th with a height of 3.25m (10'-8").
Abby Zamzow and
Allison Vaughn took fourth and fifth respectively in the women's triple jump hitting marks of 11.57m (37'-11.5") and 11.54m (37'-10.5).
Spence and Zamzow placed top 10 in the long jump with Spence placing seventh (5.59m | 18'
4.25") and Zamzow finishing ninth (5.47m | 17'-11.5").
On the men's side,
Oussama Elbouchayby claimed first overall in the men's mile with a time of 4:17.52, beating out several Division I competitors.
Emmett Seals Jr. earned a provisional mark in the 60-meter sprint, taking sixth overall with a time of 6.80. Also earning a provisional was
Elvis Kryukov who took second overall in the 60-meter hurdles at 8.15 while
Kyle Lumpkins finished seventh, crossing the finish line at 8.41.
The men's 4x400-meter relay team of
Bossman Pinkrah, Seals, Elbouchayby, and
Braden Jetton finished third overall, earning a time of 3:20.31 to claim the provisional mark.
Jacobee Jones improved on his provisional mark in the pole vault, clearing a height of 4.90m (16'-0.75") to take second overall while Lumpkins also earned a provisional in the event with a fourth-place finish at 4.75m (15'-7").
In the men's triple jump,
Joshua Body (14.18m | 46'-6.25") and
Thombias Moy (13.74m | 45'-1") took fourth and fifth respectively while Kryukov finished fourth in the shot put at 14.96m (49'-1") and
Cole Paxton finished fifth in the weight throw with a mark of 15.81m (51'-10.5").
The Rams and Belles will be back in action next weekend as they compete at New Mexico's Team Open beginning Friday, Jan. 27.
