Kingsville, Texas – The Angelo State volleyball team fell in straight sets to Texas A&M-Kingsville on Friday evening inside the Gil. E Steinke Physical Education Center, losing 25-22, 25-21, and 25-23.
The Javelinas recorded six service aces while the Rambelles didn't record one; the hosts hit .270, and the Belles turned in a .192 hitting percentage.
Elsa Lamphere and
Hannah Kinnison had ten kills each, while
Madi Parrish had seven kills, and
Evelyn Torres added in five more. Middle
Marina Sanchez had two kills, and freshman
Kamryn Williams added a pair of kills in the third set.
For the first time this season,
Kayla Baer led the Belles with 16 assists;
Laney Dale added 15 assists.
Ireland Ferguson led the Belles with ten digs, the fourth time this season the sophomore has recorded double-digit digs.
The Belles are now 19-4 on the season and 9-2 in conference play; they close their weekend out tomorrow afternoon against Texas A&M International, who were swept this evening by UT Permian Basin.
