Laredo, Texas – The Angelo State volleyball team rebounded from being swept for the first time all season last night at the hands of Texas A&M-Kingsville with a sweep of their own, taking down Texas A&M International in straight sets on Saturday afternoon in South Texas.
Sets one and three were tightly contested, with the Rambelles taking both sets by a 25-22 score line; the Belles cruised to a 25-12 set two victory.
The Belles hit .188 for the match while holding the hosts to a .084 hitting percentage; the Belles forced the Dustdevils into 21 attacking errors.
Hannah Kinnison had ten kills for the second-straight match, hitting .250.
Evelyn Torres had eight kills, and
Madi Parrish added six kills. Parrish also led the team with 14 digs and four blocks, both new career highs for the freshman outside hitter.
Middle
Marina Sanchez had five kills and did not commit an error to lead the Belles with a .500 hitting percentage.
Laney Dale turned in another double-double with 20 assists and 11 digs. Fellow setter
Kayla Baer had ten assists and led the team with three service aces.
The Belles improve to 20-4 on the season and 10-2 in LSC competition. They return to the Junell Center – Stephens Arena next weekend to close their home schedule with matches against UAFS and Oklahoma Christian.
