SAN ANGELO, Texas - After becoming Lone Star Conference Champions last season, the Angelo State women's basketball team looks to repeat this season under Head Coach Alesha Ellis as they take on Rice in an exhibition before traveling to Billings, Mont. to take on UMary, Gannon, and Minot State at the D2CCA Tipoff Classic at the Trailhead to kick off the season.

• The Rambelles are coming off of a season where they won the LSC Conference Championship.
• Sawyer Lloyd was named Co-Preseason Player of the Year after a 15 ppg, four ast  and eight reb stat line last season.
• Leading Rebounders Tay Pleasant and Madeline Stephens, along with Blakely Gerber, leading scorer for the Rambelles in the 2021-2022 season are returning this season.
• ASU was picked to finish first in the LSC preseason poll, Texas women's, UT Tyler, Lubbock Christian, and West Texas A&M round out the top five.
• The Blue and Gold returned 12 members from last year's championship-winning side and added two freshmen to the fold.
• The Rambelles return four of last years starters and the top six point-getters from last years team.

• UMary finished seventh in the Rocky Mountain Northern Sun Intercollegiate conference after posting a 14-13 overall record, going 12-10 in conference play.
• In the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference preseason poll, the Marauders were picked to finish third in the conference.
• Last Season UMary, scored 66.3 per game while holding opponents to 64.3.
• The Marauders are led by returning Megan Zander, who averaged 14pg and five rebounds last season. 

• In the PSAC West preseason poll, the Golden Knights are projected to finish 2nd, receiving two first-place votes.
• The Golden Knights are coming off a season where they fell short in its conference championship game.
• Last year, the Golden Knights came off a season where they finished first in the regular season, but fell short in the conference championship after having a 29-5 overall record and 19-3 in conference action.
• Gannon is led by Post Player Samantha Pirosko, who averages 20 pg and seven rebounds.
• Samantha Pirosko broke Gannon's school record last year in points with 693.
• Last season, the Golden Knights scored 73 points a game while holding opponents to 59.7.

• In the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference preseason poll, Minot State is projected to finish last.
• Last season, Minot State finished 12-16 overall and 8-14 in conference.
• Minot State is led by Emma Mogen, who averages six points per game and three rebounds.
