SAN ANGELO – In their final match on their home floor in the 2023 season, the Angelo State volleyball team swept their opponent inside the Junell Center – Stephens Arena for the ninth time this season, downing Oklahoma Christian in straight sets on Saturday afternoon.
The Rambelles dominated from the start, holding the Eagles to a zero attack percentage through sets one and two. The Eagles found a second win in set three, but a late run secured the sweep for the Belles.
The Eagles hit .103 for the match, while the Belles hit .388, their highest mark against a Division II opponent this season.
Hannah Kinnison led all players with 12 kills on the afternoon – eight of which came in the first set. She hit .360 for the match.
Elsa Lamphere and
Evelyn Torres had ten kills each, while Lamphere led the team with three blocks.
Marina Sanchez (six kills),
Madi Parrish (five kills), and
Kamryn Williams (two kills) each recorded multiple kills without committing an error, with Sanchez leading the Belles with a .600 percentage, while Parrish followed right behind her with a .591 mark.
Laney Dale's 23 assists equaled the total assist mark for the visitors, and
Kayla Baer had 14 more assists off the bench. Dale also set a new career-high with four service aces.
Caleigh Enax led all players with 13 digs, and Parrish followed with 11 as the Belles out-dug the Eagles 49-38.
The Belles improve to 22-4 on the season and 12-2 in conference play; they finish the season 11-1 on their home court this fall. They close out their regular season schedule next weekend with a road trip that will see them take on DBU and UT Tyler.
