SAN ANGELO – The Angelo State softball team dropped their Lone Star Conference opener on Friday night at Mayer Field, 7-3, to rivals West Texas A&M.
Lady Buffs starting pitcher Kyra Lair stifled the Rambelle offense, only conceding a pair of hits.
Ashlyn Lerma started the scoring in the first inning, drawing a four-pitch walk before stealing second base, advancing to third on a sacrifice bunt, and scoring on a
Paxton Scheurer sacrifice fly.
The Lady Buffs equaled the score in the third inning before putting up a four-spot in the fourth.
