Canyon, Texas – The Angelo State men's basketball team fell in their second-straight road contest, falling to West Texas A&M on Saturday afternoon in Canyon 84-67.
The Rams are now 18-5 on the season and 14-3 in conference play.
Angelo State struggled shooting from three-point range in the first half, missing all four of their attempts from deep; conversely, the Buffs shot 54.5 percent from three-point range as they made 12 threes.
Kevon Godwin led all players with 22 points on 7-of-10 shooting. The junior guard also made all eight of his free throw attempts.
Devaughn Thomas joined his teammate in double figures for scoring with 13 points; he made all six of his attempts from the charity stripe and grabbed a team-high eight rebounds. Defensively, he recorded two blocks.
Willie Guy and
Tre Mitchell scored nine and eight points, respectively, and
Fredelin De La Cruz grabbed three of the Rams' five steals.
The Rams continue their road trip next weekend, traveling to Cameron and Midwestern State.
