OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – The third-ranked Angelo State baseball team scored late in Sunday's contest as the Rams completed the series sweep of Oklahoma Christian, winning game four 10-2 at Dobson Baseball Field.
The Rams are now 21-3 overall and in Lone Star Conference play, sweeping their second straight series.
Angelo State tallied the first run of the game in the first inning as
Jordan Williams singled to left field to score
Jacob Guerrero.
The Eagles tallied one run in both the fourth and fifth innings, hitting RBI doubles for both runs to take a 2-1 lead after five.
Mason Bryant started on the mound for the Rams, throwing 4 1/3 innings with two runs off five hits while collecting seven strikeouts.
The Rams regained the lead in the top of the sixth, scoring on an error before
Tyler Boggs groundout, scoring
Thomas Cain on the play.
In the eighth inning, the Rams pulled ahead with six more runs, scoring three on an error at third base before
Kamden Kelton doubled to score
Justin Harris followed by an RBI hit by
Tripp Clark.
Harris added another run for the Rams in the ninth, hitting a solo home run over the left-field wall.
Austin Teel earned the win for ASU, throwing four innings of relief with two hits and one run, punching out seven batters. He is now 1-0 on the season.
The Rams will host two series next week, playing a two-game nonconference series against Southwestern on Tuesday and Wednesday before returning to LSC action against St. Mary's beginning Friday, Mar. 17.
