ABILENE, Texas – The Angelo State track & field teams wrapped up competition at the Wes Kittley Invitational hosted by Abilene Christian on Saturday, collecting six provisional marks on the weekend.
For the Rambelles,
Shiean Walters turned in a provisional mark in the 200-meter dash, running a time of 24.32, taking fourth overall in the event.
Zykia McDaniel finished right behind Walters, crossing the finish line at 24.60.
Shadae Findley claimed first overall in the 800-meter run, earning a time of 2:13.96 while the 4x100-meter relay team of Walters, McDaniel,
Maricia Spence and
Fatoumata Kabo ran the top time of 46.75.
In the field events,
Allison Vaughn finished first-overall in the women's triple jump (11.64m | 38'-2.25") and
Kylyie Paden took second in the pole vault with a height of 3.38m (11'-1").
Spence and
Talena Murray took first and second in the women's javelin respectively, hitting distances of 40.30m (132'-3") and 39.24m (128'-9").
Maggie Morales finished fifth in the long jump (5.22m | 17'-1.5") and the triple jump (11.00m | 36'-1.25") while
Coryn Peters cleared a height of 3.23m (10'-7") to take fourth in the pole vault.
On the men's side,
Devoux Deysel took first overall in the javelin with a provisional throw of 71.70m (235'-3").
Cason Brown finished fourth overall in the discus with a throw of 53.32m (174'-11") to earn a provisional while
Jacobee Jones hit a provisional in the pole vault with a height of 4.88m (16'-0").
The 4x400-meter relay team of
Emmett Seals Jr.,
Breylin Butler,
Braden Jetton,
David Morgan finished third overall with a provisional time of 40.92. Morgan also earned a provisional time in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.48.
Oussama Elbouchayby crossed the finish line with the top time in the 1,500-meter run at 3:51.64 while
Romel Plummer finished second in the 400-meter hurdles at 53.78.
The 4x400-meter relay team finished third as
JoeMarcus Mireles,
Jonathan Ramirez, Plummer,
Bradley Humphreys combined for a time of 3:20.90. Also finished in third was Treyton Showen who complete the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 10:19.52
Joshua Body earned two top five finishes, taking second in the triple jump (14.58m | 47'-10") and fifth in the high jump (1.88m | 6'-2").
The Rams and Belles are back in action next weekend as they compete at the Masked Rider Open hosted by Texas Tech beginning on Friday, Mar. 24.
