LUBBOCK, Texas – The Angelo State track & field teams wrapped up competition at the Masked Rider Open hosted by Texas Tech over the weekend.
The Rambelles collected three provisional marks in the 400-meter run as
Shadae Findley finished third (53.31) followed by
Shiean Walters in fourth (53.80) and
Zykia McDaniel in seventh (54.83).
Findley, Walters, McDaniel, and
Maricia Spence also combined for a provisional time in the 4x400-meter relay, taking first overall with a time of 3:38.98 which leads Division II.
Spence earned her second provisional performance of the meet in the long jump, hitting a mark of 6.00m (19'-8.25") to win the event.
Talena Murray took second overall in the javelin, throwing a provisional mark of 44.16m (144'-10").
On the men's side,
Cason Brown improved on his NCAA best in the discus, throwing a mark of 54.21m (177'-10") to take fifth overall and earn the top finish in Division II.
David Morgan finished sixth overall in the 100-meter dash with a provisional time of 10.48. Also earning a provisional time was
Oussama Elbouchayby who took first overall in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:46.86.
Romel Plummer took third in the 400-meter hurdles, crossing the finish line at 53.01 to earn a provisional time.
The 4x100-meter relay team of
Emmett Seals Jr.,
Dorian Leda,
Braden Jetton, and Morgan ran a time of 40.25 to earn a provisional and a fourth-place finish.
The Rams collected two provisional marks in the pole vault as
Jacobee Jones took third at 5.21m (17'-1") followed by
Kyle Lumpkins in eighth at 4.91m (16'-1.25").
Angelo State continues the outdoor season next week at the Texas Relays beginning Wednesday, Mar. 29 in Austin.
