SAN ANGELO, Texas- The Angelo State women's tennis team defeated DBU 6-1 in a Lone Star Conference match at home Friday afternoon at the ASU Tennis Complex.

The Belles won the doubles point to get an early lead over the Patriots. The pair of
Eva Schwartz and
Mieke Van Deventer won line two 6-1 while
Dianela Rodriguez and
Letizia Corsini won line three 6-3 to clinch the doubles point.

Rodriguez was winning position one 3-2 when DBU's Angela Charles-Alfre retired giving Rodriguez a point. Schwartz finished next for the Belles with a 6-4, 6-2 win in line three.
Christine Jevicky clinched the next point for the Belles winning at number four with a score of 6-2, 7-5.
Ramitha Irrinki won the first set 7-6 with an 8-2 tiebreaker before winning set two 6-0 to grab the match point for the Belles.

The Belles are back in action with a home match tomorrow against UT Tyler at 11 a.m.
