KINGSVILLE, Texas – The top-ranked Angelo State baseball team evened the series against Texas A&M – Kingsville, winning game two 1-0 in eight innings while the second game of Saturday's doubleheader was postponed due to weather.
Lightning struck in the fifth inning of the second game of the day. The game will resume tomorrow around 1 p.m., with the Rams leading 6-2.
GAME ONE: ASU 1, TAMUK 0
The first game of the doubleheader featured a pitching duel as neither team able to put up a run in regulation.
After seven scoreless innings, the Rams put up the only run of the game.
Tripp Clark led off with a walk before singles by
Austin Beck and
Jordan Williams put him on third.
Jackson Hardy brought in the winning run on a sac-fly to left field.
Kade Bragg brought his win total to 10 on the season after throwing all eight innings with only seven hits and 12 strikeouts with ties for third most in a game. He has now pitched 21 consecutive innings without allowing a run.
The final game of the series, originally scheduled for tomorrow at 1 p.m., will be played following the conclusion of game three.
