SAN ANGELO, Texas – The Angelo State track & field teams finished the combined events of the 51
st David Noble Relays, collecting five top five performances on Thursday at LeGrand Stadium at 1
st Community Credit Union Field.
Leading the seventh-ranked Rambelles,
Maricia Spence took second overall in the heptathlon while leading all Division II competitors with 5,513 points which set a new personal best. She finished first overall in the long jump with a provisional mark of 6.11m (20-0.5) while taking fourth in the javelin with a throw of 37.17m (121-11).
In fourth place was
Anna Riccomagno with 4,983 points while collecting third place finishes in the javelin (37.77m | 123-11) and the 800-meter run with a time of 2:23.45.
Allison Vaughn set a new personal best by over 700 points in the heptathlon, finishing fifth overall with a total of 4,849 points, capping off the event with the fastest time in the 800-meter run at 2:20.82.
Finishing sixth was
Abby Zamzow with 4,782 points while
Kylie Frush took 11
th with 3,650 points.
The ninth-ranked Rams finished with the top two performers in the decathlon with
Elvis Kryukov taking first overall with a score of 7,296 points. He finished first in the discus with a throw of 42.06m (138-0) and first in the javelin with a toss of 52.59m (172-6).
In second was
Kyle Lumpkins who set a personal best with 7,197 points after first overall in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:38.15. He also earned second in the pole vault, clearing a height of 4.70m (15-5), and took third in the 110-meter hurdles at 14.83.
Simon Rey finished eighth overall in the decathlon with 5,640 points, claiming first overall in the pole vault with a provisional mark of 4.90m (16-1).
The David Noble Relays continue tomorrow with field events beginning at noon and the prelims of the running events starting at 12:30 p.m.
