SAN ANGELO, Texas – The Angelo State track & field teams are set for the 2023 Lone Star Conference Outdoor Championships as the eighth-ranked Rams and seventh-ranked Rambelles head to Lubbock Christian for the three-day meet.

Participating Men's Teams (11): Angelo State, Cameron, DBU, Eastern New Mexico, Lubbock Christian, Oklahoma Christian, St. Edward's, Texas A&M-Kingsville, UT Tyler, West Texas A&M, Western New Mexico.
Participating Women's Teams (12): Angelo State, Cameron, DBU, Eastern New Mexico, Lubbock Christian, Midwestern State, Oklahoma Christian, St. Edward's, Texas A&M-Kingsville, UT Tyler, West Texas A&M and Western New Mexico.
The Belles enter the championships with 26 marks that rank top five in the conference.
Maricia Spence leads the conference in both the 100-meter hurdles (13.66) and the 400-meter hurdles (1:02.24) and holds the top mark in the heptathlon with 5,513 points.
The 4x400-meter relay team of Spence,
Zykia McDaniel,
Shiean Walters and
Shadae Findley also hold the top time in the LSC at 3:38.64 which is the second fasted time in Division II. Findley leads the conference in the 800-meter run as well at 2:09.74.
Talena Murray holds the top mark in the javelin with a throw of 44.70m (146-8) while the Belles have three of the top five fastest times in the 400-meter dash with Findley in second (53.42) followed by Walters in third (53.66) and McDaniel in fourth (53.99).
On the men's side, the Rams have collected 16 top-five marks in the conference.
Elvis Kryukov leads the decathlon with a high of 7,296 points followed by
Kyle Lumpkins with 7,197 points.
Devoux Deysel holds the top performance in the javelin with a throw of 74.37m (244-0) while
Joshua Body leads the triple jump at 15.11m (49-7).
Oussama El Bouchayby leads all of Division II in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:45.31.
The Rams have four of the top five marks in the pole vault with
Jacobee Jones ranking second overall at 5.22m (17-1.5) followed by Lumpkins in third (4.91m | 16-1.25) while
Simon Rey and
Pacer Hill are tied at fourth (4.90m | 16-0.75).
