Wichita Falls, Texas – The Angelo State men's basketball team dropped their third-successive road game on Thursday night inside D.L. Ligon Coliseum in double overtime to Midwestern State, with the Mustangs prevailing 88-79 over the Rams.
The Rams are 1-1 in overtime games this season; the Rams are now 6-2 all-time in double overtime games in program history.
The Rams only shot 39.7 percent from the field and 28.1 percent from three-point range.
Kevon Godwin led the Rams in scoring with 20 points while playing 49 out of a possible 50 minutes; the Floridian also grabbed four rebounds and recorded three assists and three steals.
Shemar Smith recorded his first double-double for the Blue and Gold with 15 points and 11 rebounds in 48 minutes of action. Smith's 11 rebounds are tied for the most by a Ram in a single game this season.
Trey Farrer scored 12 points on 5-for-7 shooting from the field and grabbed eight rebounds; the graduate student forward also set a new career-high with four steals. As a team, the Rams forced the Mustangs into 15 turnovers while they only committed nine of their own.
Keyshawn Embery-Simpson had 11 points, making a trio of threes, and
DJ Basey had ten points and six rebounds in 22 minutes off the bench.
The Rams are now 12-4 on the season and 7-3 in LSC play; they close out their road trip on Saturday against Cameron, who are coming off a two-point, last-second victory over UT Permian Basin this evening.
