Lawton, Okla. – The Angelo State men's basketball team closed out their four-game road trip with a 90-76 loss at the hands to Cameron on Saturday afternoon inside Aggie Gym.
The Rams shot 57.1 percent from the field and 50 percent from three; however, the Aggies out-rebounded the Rams 26-19 and forced the Rams into 17 turnovers.
Keyshawn Embery-Simpson scored 27 points, his fourth game this season with 25 or more points. Embery-Simpson shot 9-for-19 from the field and made three of his eight attempts from three. The graduate student guard also led the Rams with five assists and three steals.
Willie Guy came one point short of his career high in scoring with 19 points on 7-for-13 shooting and 4-for-7 shooting from three. This is Guy's sixth game this season in double digits for scoring.
DJ Basey joined his teammates in double digits with ten points, making all four of his shot attempts from the field; this is Basey's second game in a row with ten points.
In his first start for Angelo State,
Kendrick Delahoussaye had eight points, while
Shemar Smith had five points and a team-high five rebounds.
Freshman
Everson Armstrong scored a new personal best with four points in 15 minutes off the bench.
The Rams are now 12-5 and 7-4 in LSC play; they return home next weekend to host St. Mary's and St. Edward's.
