NORMAN, Okla. – The Angelo State track & field teams wrapped up the SNU Invitational on Saturday, competing in Norman, Okla.
The Rambelles' 4x400-relay team of
Zykia McDaniel,
Shadae Findley,
Averie Griffith, and
Allison Vaughn finished first overall with a time of 3:55.88 to earn a provisional. Findley also ran the fastest time in the 800-meter run, crossing the finish line at 2:18.90.
Competing in her first meet for the Rambelles,
Jacent Nyamahunge finished second overall in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.62, earning a provisional mark and beating out all Division II competitors.
In the finals of the 60-meter hurdles,
Abby Zamzow finished third with a time of 9.13 while taking second in the triple jump with a jump of 11.94m (39'-2.25").
Anna Riccomagno was the top performer in the long jump with a mark of 5.65m (18'-6.5") while
Kylyie Paden finished fourth in the high jump (1.60m | 5'-3") and
Katelyn Bohensky finished fourth in the pole vault (3.21m | 10'-6.25").
Maricia Spence tossed a mark of 12.65m (41'-6") in the shot put while also running the fastest time in the semifinals of the 60-meter hurdles with a provisional time of 8.61.
On the men's side,
David Morgan ran the fastest time in the 60-meter dash with a provisional mark of 6.81 followed by
Dorian Leda who finished fifth at 6.98. Leda also finished second in the 200-meter dash at 22.70 followed by Morgan in third at 23.02.
The Rams had four runners finish in the top 10 in the 600-yard with Antonio Blair winning the event with a time of 1:14.74 followed by
Romel Plummer in second (1:15.92),
Clayton Carlin in fourth (1:17.52) and Brad Humphreys in sixth (1:19.24).
The 4x400-meter relay team of Charles Frimpong, Blair, Plummer, and Humphreys earned the fastest time at 3:26.27 while the team of
Bossman Pinkrah, Max Wassmer, Josh Minton, and Carlin took second at 3:27.36.
Jacobee Jones won the pole vault with a provisional mark of 4.90m (16'-0.75") while
Kyle Lumpkins took second with the same height.
Joshua Body took first in the triple jump, earning a provisional with a mark of 15.13m (49'-7.75").
In the men's weight throw,
Cole Paxton claimed the farthest toss with a mark of 17.47m (57'-3.75") while
Luis Alvarado took second at 16.88m (55'-4.75").
The Rams and Rambelles are back in action next week as they travel to Kansas for Pittsburg State's Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 27.
