Odessa, Texas – The Angelo State men's basketball team dropped their conference opener this afternoon in Odessa to UT Permian Basin, 65-62, inside the Falcon Dome.
The Rams shot 41.8 percent from the field but struggled from three, only converting six of their 22 attempts from deep.
Sterling Gaston-Chapman led the Rams in scoring with 14 points on 6-for-13 shooting. He also grabbed four rebounds and dished out a pair of assists.
Kendrick Delahoussaye scored 13 points on 4-for-9 shooting, also grabbing two steals.
Shemar Smith joined his teammates in double figures with ten points.
Kaden Evans scored six points while leading the Rams with four steals and five rebounds. That is Evans' second four-steal game for the Rams in four contests.
Carvell Teasett scored eight points, while
Damonze Woods scored seven, his season-best.
The Rams are 2-2 on the season and 0-1 in LSC play. They are back in action next Saturday as they host Southern Arkansas inside the Junell Center – Stephens Arena.
