Rambelles Defeat Colorado Christian 93-76 in 2024 Finale

LAKEWOOD, Colo - The Angelo State Women's basketball team defeated Colorado Christian 93-76 to win their final game of the 2024 calendar year Saturday afternoon inside of the CCU event center.
 
Angelo State improve to 8-3 overall record with the victory, the Cougars fall to 2-10 overall.
 
40 MINUTE RUNDOWN
  • The Rambelles first three baskets of the contest would all be three pointers made by Madi Lumsden, Peyton Stellato, and Majik Esquivel giving the Rambelles a 9-1 lead with 6:32 remaining in the first quarter of action.
  • Colorado Christian's Makayla Boatman knocked down a three to tie the game, 18-18, after the slow start.
  • Hayley Flores would hit her second three of the quarter to give the Rambelles a 21-20 lead going into the second quarter.
  • The Cougars would take the lead for the first time when Nicole Bowlin hit a three with the first shot of the quarter giving Colorado Christian a 23-21 lead.
  • At the 4:55 marker in the second quarter the Rambelles would take the lead back after Madeline Stephens gave the Rambelles a 37-35.
  • The Rambelles would go into the break down one, 43-42, after Josie Grosdidier would knockdown a free throw.
  • An Addy Burns jumper gave the Rambelles a 48-47 with 7:51 remaining in the third quarter of action.
  • The Rambelles would close the third quarter on a 11-0 run, with a 65-57 lead the final quarter of action remaining.
  • The Rambelles would score 28 points in the fourth quarter to pull away from the Cougars to give the Rambelles a, 93-76, victory to end the 2024 calendar year.
GAME STATS
  • Madeline Stephens would lead all scorers with 17 points, and also recording her fourth double-double of the year after recording a game high 15 rebounds.
  • Addy Burns and Keniah Williams would both have 16 points and six rebounds respectively.
  • Lumsden would close out the double-digit scoring for Rambelles after recording 10 points.
  • The Belles would shoot 50 percent (33-65) percent from the field, 50 percent (13-26) from beyond the arc, and 82 percent (14-17) from the free throw line.
  • The Belles would lose the turnover battle, 18-7.

The Rambelles are heading into the winter break, but will return to action on Jan.3rd when they travel to Silver City, N.M to face Western New Mexico with tip off scheduled for 6 p.m.
