No. 7 Belles Sweep DBU to Advance to South Central Regional Finals

SAN ANGELO – The Angelo State volleyball team took care of DBU in straight sets on Saturday evening inside the Junell Center – Stephens Arena as they advance to tomorrow's South Central Regional Finals. The Rambelles took sets one and two 25-23 before taking set three 25-16.

The Belles hit .292 for the match, committing only 13 attack errors. They out-killed DBU 48-40 and had six aces while conceding none.

Madi Parrish led all players with 16 kills while hitting .394. She fell shy of a double-double with nine digs.

Demi Carter joined her teammate in double figures for kills with 13 on 22 swings; she did not commit an error for a .591 attack percentage. Carter also had three blocks in the match.

Evelyn Torres had nine kills, while Sydney Thornton added six kills and four blocks.

Adeline Ortman assisted 35 times and recorded a double-double with 11 digs.

Libero Caleigh Enax led the Belles with 12 digs and tied her career high for service aces for the second-straight match, with four aces from the service line.

With the win, the Belles reach the 30-win mark for the fourth time under Chuck Waddington and the first since 2016.

The Belles have also been playing in their first regional final since 2016, where they swept MSU Denver in San Angelo to claim the regional championship.

The Belles are 30-2 on the season and take on MSU Denver in the regional finals tomorrow at 4 p.m.
