UT Tyler, the eighth-ranked team in the country, is 10-5 on the season and 2-4 in LSC play. This weekend will mark their first home games of the season. Last season, the Patriots won the South Central region and made it to the national semifinals.

The Patriots opened their conference schedule by getting swept at the hands of now-No. 3 West Texas A&M in Canyon last weekend, losing the three games by a combined four runs. During this week, they went to Lawton, Oklahoma, to take on Cameron, where they claimed two out of the three games from the Aggies.

After the Patriots opened their season with a loss at the hands of MSU Denver at the DII First Pitch Invitational in Conroe, UTT won their next eight contests, including a pair of wins over ranked opponents.

The Patriots are hitting .333 as a team and average five runs per game. They have a .485 slugging percentage - identical to the Rambelles - and have a .404 on-base percentage. Audrey Escamilla and Courtney Plocheck are hitting .415 and .412, respectively. Plocheck, the LSC Preseason Player of the Year, has 21 hits and has driven in nine runs.

UTT's pitching staff owns a 1.93 team ERA and has struck out 80 batters, which are both third in the LSC. Opponents hit .208 against the Patriots' pitchers, the best mark in the league. True freshman Crimson Bryant leads the team with a 1.63 ERA and 29 strikeouts in 30 innings.

LAST TIME VS. UTT
The Rambelles are 4-6 all-time against the Patriots and are 0-3 against the Patriots in Tyler. All four of the Rambelles' wins have come by a 3-2 score line, with two coming in extra inning. Last season, the Rambelles handed the Patriots their only two conference losses.
