Arkadelphia, Arkansas - The Angelo State women's tennis team came from behind against Henderson State on Friday afternoon, winning 4-3 despite dropping the doubles point. This season, the win is the first for coach Jason Potthoff's squad, in which they claimed victory despite not securing the doubles point.
 
At No. 2 doubles, Ayda Guler and Letizia Corsini would defeat Angela Georgieva and Jenna Bohnert 6-2.
 
The Rambelles would fall at No.1 Doubles and No.3 Doubles; Mulan Kamoe and Kristina Kozlova would defeat Eva Schwartz and Avery Durham 6-4 at No.1 Doubles. Marianna Murcia and Haarini Balakrishnan would defeat Ivet Stancheva and Alexandra Vishnevsakya 7-6 (7-5) at No.3 doubles.
 
Ayda Guler would get the Rambelles on the board, defeating Marianna Murcia in straight sets 6-1, 6-2.
 
Letizia Corisni would put the Rambelles in the lead 2-1 with a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Mulan Kamoe on line one. 
 
Letizia Corisni will move to 6-0 in singles and doubles action after the victory.
 
Eva Schwartz and Jessica Li would fall short on line two and three.
 
Ivet Stancheva would win her first collegiate singles match at line six 6-7 (4), 6-3, 6-4 against Haarini Balakrishnan to tie the match 3-3.
 
The match came down to Christine Jevicky vs. Jenna Bohnert at line four. Bohnert would win set one 6-4, before Jevicky fought off defeat in set two, taking it 6-4. Jevicky would win 6-2 at line four to clinch the 4-3 victory for the Rambelles.
 
The Rambelles hit the courts again tomorrow as they take on Arkansas Tech, with the first serve scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
