No. 22 Rambelles Look to Bounce Back Against Texas Woman's

SAN ANGELO - The Angelo State softball team stays on the road as they face a quick turnaround to take on Texas Woman's in a midweek series in Denton.

The series begins with a doubleheader on Tuesday at 1 p.m. before closing with a single game on Wednesday, which also starts at 1 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
The Rambelles were swept at the hands of UT Tyler this past weekend in Tyler for their first three conference losses of the season.

The Rambelles out-hit the Patriots in game one; however, the Rambelles grounded into three double plays as they stranded eight runners on base.

The Rambelles could only muster a single run in each of the series' final two games, doing so in game two on a Laylonna Applin RBI double and a Zoey De Baca home run in the series finale.

The Rambelles hit .322 as a team, averaging 5.8 runs per game. The Rambelles are second in Division II with 11 triples hit this season, which exceeds their total from a season ago. The Rambelles also rank fifth in the country, having been hit by 18 pitches this season.

Tatiana Trotter is sixth in the LSC with a .457 average and fifth with 21 RBI; she is fifth in the country in runs driven in. Trotter is also tied for the lead in the LSC with nine stolen bases this season. Layni Tanner is fifth in the league with 11 walks drawn this season.

The Rambelles have a 2.15 team ERA, fifth-best in the LSC, and lead the league with five saves. They have struck out 117 batters in 122 innings, tops in the LSC, and opponents are only hitting .227 against the Rambelles, the fifth-best mark in the LSC.

Cheyenne Floyd leads Division II with nine wins this season, exceeding her win total from a season ago, and is eighth in the country with 62 strikeouts. Floyd has also struck out 18 batters looking, the most in the league. Matie Wolkow is second in the country with three saves this season.

The Pioneers opened their conference schedule by taking two out of three games in Lawton from Cameron before traveling to Laredo to sweep Texas A&M International.

TWU opened their season in Conroe at the DII First Pitch Invitational, going 1-4. They opened their season with a 9-0 win over Colorado Mesa in which ace Alyssa LeBlanc threw a no-hitter against the Mavericks, striking out 11 batters in five innings.

The Pioneers are hitting .259 as a team and average 3.6 runs scored per contest. They have a .390 slugging percentage and a .342 on-base percentage. LAST TIME VS. UTT
The Rambelles are 57-17-1 all-time against the Pioneers. Last season, the Rambelles recorded their only LSC sweep against the Pioneers, extending their winning streak to seven games against TWU. The series' opening game featured a 13-inning, 3-2 win for the Rambelles in which LeBlanc established a new LSC record for strikeouts in a single game, fanning 23 Rambelles in 12.1 innings of work. That game also saw Floyd throw ten innings in relief as she earned the win. The Rambelles closed that series with a 6-0 win and a 10-0 run-rule win.
