Frisco, Texas – The Angelo State men's basketball team fell in the Lone Star Conference quarterfinals to four seed Eastern New Mexico on Thursday evening inside the Comerica Center, dropping the game by a 103-84 scoreline.
The Rams got off to a hot start, holding a 22-15 lead through the game's first eight minutes. However, the Greyhounds went on a 33-12 run for the rest of the half to carry an 11-point lead into the break.
Overall, the Greyhounds shot 57.6 percent from the field in the opening half while the Rams were 37.9 percent from the field.
For the game, the Greyhounds made half of their three-point attempts and shot 66.1 percent from the field, while the Rams shot 42.6 percent from the field and 35.5 percent from three.
Keyshawn Embery-Simpson led the Rams with 25 points on 9-of-20 shooting from the field and 5-of-9 shooting from three. He also led the team with five rebounds.
Kevon Godwin had 19 points on 6-of-17 shooting from the field, making three three-pointers.
Willie Guy joined his teammates in double figures with 115 points on 6-of-10 shooting from the field.
The Rams are now 19-10 on the season; they will find out their postseason fate on the NCAA Selection Show on Sunday night at 10 p.m. on NCAA.com.
