NEW ORLEANS – The Angelo State track & field teams collected 30 USTFCCCA South Central All-Region honors for the 2024 outdoor season.
Top-5 individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region honors, in addition to each of the members of a top-3 ranked relay team.
The seventh-ranked Rambelles tallied 20 all-region performances with
Maricia Spence and
Fatoumata Kabo leading the way with three all-region honors each. Spence earned all-region in the 100-meter hurdles, the long jump, and the heptathlon which she ranks top 10 in Division II in all three events. Kabo was named all-region in both the 4x100 and 4x400 relays along with the 400-meter hurdles. She ranks second in Division II in the hurdles and fourth in the 4x400 relay.
The Belles also had four other athletes earn two all-region honors in
Zykia McDaniel,
Kylie Frush,
Shadae Findley, and
Allison Vaughn.
On the men's side, the Rams collected 10 all-region selections including
Antonio Blair who is fifth in Division II in the 800-meter run and
Mark Burdin who ranks ninth in the decathlon.
