Louisville, Ky. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) released their All-American teams this afternoon, and Angelo State Softball pitcher
Cheyenne Floyd was named a Second Team All-American.
Floyd tacks on another award for her accolade-laden junior season, which saw her named the D2CCA South Central Region Pitcher of the Year and a consensus first-team all-region selection. She was the LSC's Pitcher of the Year and named to the All-Academic Team.
Floyd is the 35
th All-American selection in program history and the seventh pitcher to earn All-American honors. She is the first pitcher to earn All-American status since Brandy Marlett was named to the second team in 2018.
This marks the fourth year in a row that
Travis Scott has a player earn All-American plaudits.
Floyd, an Interdisciplinary Studies student from Liberty Hill, went 20-10 in the circle with a 1.89 ERA. She struck out 167 batters in 163 innings and held opponents to a .207 batting average.
She threw ten of the Rambelles' 12 complete games this season and recorded two shutouts and a save.
She had five games with ten or more strikeouts, including a career-high 14 strikeouts in the quarterfinals of the LSC Tournament against Lubbock Christian, which earned Floyd a spot on the All-Tournament Team.
Floyd helped lead the Rambelles to a 37-18 overall record and an appearance at the NCAA South Central regional.
