Grand Junction, Colo. – The Angelo State volleyball team capped off a 5-0 week in Colorado with a pair of wins today at the Maverick Fall Classic, sweeping Cal State Dominguez Hills in the morning before returning in the afternoon to defeat host, No. 15 Colorado Mesa, in four sets.
The Belles swept the Toros, winning 25-21, 25-23, 25-21.
Madi Parrish led the match with 16 kills and hit .353, just behind teammate
Hannah Spencer's .357 percentage on six kills.
Spencer also led the match with six blocks.
Evelyn Torres came up one dig shy of her second-consecutive match with a double-double, notching ten kills and nine digs.

Caleigh Enax led the Belles with 16 digs and two aces; setter
Adeline Ortman assisted 44 times, new best in the LSC in a three-set match this season. The mark is also tied for the second most in a three-set match in Division II this season.
The Belles started slowly, dropping set one against the Mavericks 25-17 before bouncing back to take set two by the same scoreline. A tightly contested third and fourth sets saw the Belles take those sets by 25-23 and 25-22 scorelines, respectively.
After a first set that saw the Mavericks hit .462, the Belles defense locked in, holding the Mavs to a .106 attack percentage the rest of the way.
The attacking triumvirate of
Sydney Thornton, Parrish, and Torres combined for 37 of the Belles' 53 kills in the match. Thornton led all players with 14 kills while hitting .407, and Parrish and Torres combined for 16 digs and three service aces.
Ortman had 39 assists while recording 11 digs for her second double-double. Enax led the Belles with 23 digs while
Ireland Ferguson added 14 digs off the bench.
The win over the Mavericks is the Belles' first regular-season win over a ranked opponent since November 5
th, 2021, when they swept No. 25 West Texas A&M.
The Belles cap off the weekend with an 8-1 overall record, the best record in the LSC through the season's first two weeks.
The Belles are in action next week when they take on RV DBU and No. 9 West Texas A&M in Dallas at the LSC Challenge.
