SAN ANTONIO – The Angelo State men's basketball team dropped their road contest this evening in the Alamo City, falling at the hands of St. Mary's 68-60 inside Bill Greehey Arena.
The Rams' contest with the LSC-leading Rattlers featured 12 lead changes and 13 tied scores throughout the game.
The Rams shot 39 percent from the field and 33.3 percent from three. The Rams' defense also recorded ten steals and forced 12 turnovers.
Carvell Teasett and
Sterling Gaston-Chapman were the two Rams to score in double figures.
Teasett led the Rams with 13 points, making three three-pointers, grabbing four rebounds, and dishing out two assists.
Gaston-Chapman scored 11 points and had a pair of rebounds.
Jalen Gilmore added nine points in 12 minutes off the bench, and
Blessing Adesipe flirted with a double-double with eight points and nine rebounds.
Kaden Evans and
Kendrick Delahoussaye each had three steals, while
Denim Dawson had two.
Delahoussaye scored four points and recorded a career-high eight assists; the Rams assisted on 15 of their 23 made field goals.
The Rams are now 11-7 on the season and 7-5 in LSC play. They close out their weekend on Saturday in Austin against St. Edwards, as the Hilltoppers are coming off a buzzer-beating loss at the hands of UT Permian Basin.
