SAN ANGELO – The Angelo State volleyball team recorded its fourth successive sweep as it pushed its winning streak to five matches this afternoon inside the Junell Center/Stephens Arena, handing UT Permian Basin a 25-23, 25-8, 25-11 defeat.
The Belles' defense held the Falcons to a zero attack percentage, with the visitors committing 23 errors while only recording 23 kills.
The Belles hit .273, highlighted by a .500 mark in set two, where the Belles had 18 kills and only two errors on 32 attempts.
Julia Hopkins led all players with ten kills, not committing an error in 19 attempts for a .526 attack percentage.
Cate Boldrick followed with seven kills and a .500 attack percentage.
Allie Duitsman had five kills on eight swings, while
Raelee Allen had five kills on nine swings. Neither Belle committed an attacking error.
Gabi Ashcraft led all players with 19 assists, also recording seven digs.
Ireland Ferguson led all players with 13 digs, her eighth-straight match with double-digit digs.
The Belles are now 13-6 on the season and 7-1 in LSC play. They are on the road next weekend, taking on Texas Woman's and DBU.
