SAN ANGELO – The Angelo State volleyball team opened the final weekend of the regular season with a four-set victory on Friday evening inside the Junell Center/Stephens Arena, defeating Texas A&M-Kingsville 25-13, 25-27, 25-23, 25-23.
The win extends the Belles' league-best winning streak to seven matches.
The Belles hit .235 for the match and held the Javelinas to a .156 attack percentage.
The Belles' defense was firm at the net, outblocking the Hogs 11-4.
Madi Parrish led all players with 17 kills and only made two errors, hitting .375. She also added 11 digs, four blocks, and a pair of aces.
Julia Hopkins had 14 kills, and
Demi Carter contributed 11 kills and four blocks.
Cate Boldrick buried seven kills with a .400 attack percentage; she also led the Belles with six blocks.
Gabi Ashcraft assisted 32 times and dug eight attacks.
Madison Scrivner notched 12 helpers, seven digs, and a pair of aces.
Ireland Ferguson led all players with 19 digs.
Krizia Perez recorded ten digs off the bench.
The Belles enter the final day of the regular season with a 20-7 overall record and a 14-2 conference record; with a win tomorrow afternoon against Texas A&M International, the Belles will clinch the Lone Star Conference Regular Season Championship and host next week's conference tournament.
