Ireland Ferguson recorded her 1,000
th career dig on Friday evening as the Belles advanced to the Lone Star Conference Tournament title game for the second successive season, defeating UT Tyler 25-21, 26-24, 25-23 in the semifinals.
Ferguson, a product of Venice, Florida, is the 18
th player in program history to eclipse the 1,000-career dig mark, doing so with 13 digs tonight.
Ferguson's defensive effort helped the Belles hold UT Tyler to a .172 team attack percentage.
Madi Parrish bounced back from an off night in last night's quarterfinal with 15 kills and nine digs on a .225 attack percentage.
Julia Hopkins recorded ten kills for the second-straight match, and
Demi Carter added nine kills.
Cate Boldrick did not commit an error, converting four of her nine swings for kills.
Hannah Spencer had three kills and led the Belles with six blocks.
Gabi Ashcraft led the Belles with 19 assists, and
Madison Scrivner recorded 14 helpers.
The Belles are 23-7 on the season and will face two-seed Lubbock Christian tomorrow at 3 p.m. in the LSC Tournament Championship match.
