RV Rams Drop LSC Opener to Midwestern State

Wichita Falls, Texas – The Angelo State men's basketball team fell in their conference-opening game 77-70 to Midwestern State on Wednesday evening inside D.L. Ligon Coliseum.

The Rams entered the halftime break with an eight-point lead, but struggled offensively in the second half, only shooting 32.3 percent from the field.

For the game, the Rams shot 42.4 percent from the field and 36.4 percent from three.

Jaqai Murray led the Rams in scoring with 16 points. The senior forward also grabbed seven rebounds and assisted four times, both tied for the most on the team.

Quadir Pettaway scored 15 points in 24 minutes off the bench. The guard made four three-pointers and grabbed four rebounds.

Zyon Little added 12 points while also grabbing six rebounds and assisting four times. He also blocked a shot and led the Rams with two steals.

Jordan Crawford scored ten points on 3-for-6 shooting from the field while also converting on all four of his free throw attempts. He tied with Murray, leading the team with seven rebounds.

Ja'Queze Kirby blocked three shots on the defensive end of the floor.

The Rams are 8-2 on the season and 0-1 in LSC play. They look to bounce back on Saturday against No. 4 Lubbock Christian in Lubbock.
