Pittsburg, Kan. – The Angelo State 4x400 meter relay team of Jahleel Armstrong, William Opare,
Taylor Briggs, and
Rami Balti ran the third-fastest time ever in the 4x400 meter relay this evening at the Crimson and Gold Invitational hosted by Pittsburg State, running a time of 3:07.92.
Pittsburg State holds the top two times in Division II in the event, running a 3:07.18 at the 2025 NCAA Indoor Championships and a 3:07.72 in 2023.
The mark smashes the meet record by over two seconds, which was previously set by Texas A&M-Commerce in 2019.
The mark was one of seven provisional marks set by the Rambelles and Rams today.
Opare and Armstrong recorded individual provisionals in the 400-meter dash, finishing first and third in the event with times of 47.07 and 47.97, respectively.
The Rams' second 4x400 meter relay team of Lamont Reed, Francis Patanpatan,
Adrian Nethersole, and Bautista Diamante ran a 3:13.02 to set a provisional mark in the event.
Diamante also set an individual provisional mark in the 60m dash with a time of 6.81 seconds.
Diamante claimed an event win in the 200 meters with a sprint of 21.69 seconds, and Nethersole took top honors in the 800 meters, clocking a time of 1:52.49.
Freshman Jeremiah King finished third in the shot put, recording a throw of 14.55 meters in his first collegiate meet.
On the women's side,
Kylyie Paden tallied a pair of provisional marks, doing so in the high jump (1.67 meters) and the pole vault (3.75 meters).
The Rambelles and Rams are back in competition on January 16-17 in Lubbock at the Corky Classic hosted by Texas Tech.
