SAN ANGELO, Texas - The Angelo State women's tennis team fell to UT Tyler 5-2 on Saturday afternoon inside of the ASU Tennis Complex.
 
The Belles fall to 12-3 overall and 1-2 in Lone Star Conference action. 
 
The pairing of Elise Buhagiar and Natalia Gorzny defeated the No.12 ranked doubles team, Eva Schwartz and Avery Durham, 6-1 to win the first match in doubles play. Carla Rodier and Allison Schwartz would claim the doubles point for the Patriots, defeating Benedetta Raggiotti and Margaux Rene 6-4. Jessica Li and Ivet Stancheva defeated Paula Castellanos and Kanika Sivaraman 6-4 to give the Rambelles momentum heading into singles play. 
 
Natalia Gorzny defeated No.44 Marguax Rene 6-3, 7-5 to give UT Tyler an early 2-0 advantage. 
 
Paula Castellanos defeated Benedetta Raggiotti 6-1, 2-6, 6-2 to give the Patriots a 3-0 advantage.
 
Ivet Stancheva would defeat Kanika Sivaraman 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 to claim the first point for the Rambelles. 
 
Allison Schwartz defeated Avery Durham 2-6, 6-4, 6-2 to give the Patriots the victory. 
 
Jessica Li would win a three-set thriller 5-7, 7-6(7-5), 1-0(10-5) to make the score 4-2 in favor of the Patriots.
 
Yona Bancarel defeated Eva Schwartz 7-5, 6-7(7-9), 10-7  to give the Patriots a 5-2 victory.
