Frisco, Texas – The Angelo State men's basketball team fell in the Lone Star Conference Tournament quarterfinals to top-seed DBU 85-63 on Friday evening inside the Comerica Center.
The Rams struggled to create offense, shooting 39.6 percent from the field and 29.4 percent from three. They also committed 19 turnovers, which the Patriots turned into 21 points.
DJ Freeman recorded his second double-double of the season with 14 points and ten rebounds. His 14 points tie his season-high, which he also accomplished on January 5
th at Sul Ross State. He grabbed double-digit rebounds in four of his last five games after not reaching that mark in the first 24 games this season; over that stretch, he averaged 10.8 boards per game.
Kendrick Delahoussaye scored 13 points in his final collegiate game. Making two field goals, Delahoussaye went 9-for-10 from the free-throw line, his second-most made free throws in a game this season. He also accounted for seven of the Rams' 14 assists.
Carvell Teasett had 11 points in his collegiate finale, his fourth-consecutive game in double figures and his 12
th game this season with ten or more points.
Sterling Gaston-Chapman added ten points, three rebounds, a pair of assists, and three steals, while
Kaden Evans and
Shemar Smith had eight and seven points in their final college action, respectively.
Evans blocked a pair of shots and grabbed four steals, his eighth game with four or more steals this season.
The Rams finish the season with a 17-12 overall record and a 13-9 record in LSC play.
