Cross Country Teams Set Personal Bests at Inaugural Dr. Steve McCleery Invitational

HOBBS, N.M. – The Angelo State cross country teams delivered strong performances at the first-ever Dr. Steve McCleery Invitational, hosted by New Mexico Junior College on Friday morning at Harry McAdams Park.

RAMBELLES

The Rambelles opened the meet with the 5K race, securing a third-place team finish with a combined time of 1:46:23, finishing ahead of Lone Star Conference opponents Eastern New Mexico and UT Permian Basin.
Ashley Stratton led the way individually, placing 13th overall with a new personal best of 20:15.6, closely followed by Chasity Benson, who clocked a personal best of 20:21.0 to finish 14th.

The Rams competed in the 8K and earned a fifth-place team finish with a total time of 2:19:05, finishing ahead of Eastern New Mexico.
Alex Hauck, Corey Labbe, and Caden Glenn ran tightly together, placing 19th, 20th, and 21st, respectively — all within 20 seconds of each other.
A total of five Rams set new personal bests during the race, highlighting a morning of strong individual improvement.
