SAN ANGELO – The Angelo State volleyball team returned to winning ways this evening inside the Junell Center-Stephens Arena, sweeping St. Mary's in straight sets, 25-22, 25-13, 25-18.
The Belles hit .252 for the match, their highest mark since their last home match against Colorado Mesa on Sept. 6.
The Belles' offense was highlighted by a .483 hitting percentage in set two, only making two errors on 29 swings.
Three Belles recorded double-doubles.
Madison Scrivner had 17 assists and 12 digs, while fellow setter
Gabi Ashcraft had 11 assists and ten digs.
Libero
Ireland Ferguson recorded her first-career double-double with 12 assists and 12 digs.
Krizia Perez had 11 digs and was responsible for three of the Belles' six aces.
Madi Parrish and
Julia Hopkins led the Belles with 11 kills apiece. Hopkins did not commit an error, hitting .524 for the match.
Alli Kirkpatrick only had one error and seven kills for a .429 attack percentage, while
Sydney Thornton and
Raelee Allen had five kills each. Allen set a new career high with seven digs.
The Belles improve to 7-5 on the season and 1-0 in LSC play. They are back in action tomorrow afternoon against St. Edward's, who are coming off a four-set loss to UT Permian Basin tonight in Odessa.
