Christine Huse set a new program record by shooting a 66 (-5) in round two of the WT Fall Invitational this afternoon on the La Paloma Golf Course at the Tascosa Golf Club, helping the Rambelles to third-place after the tournament's opening 36 holes of play.
Huse, who shot a 73 in round one, shaved seven strokes off her second round to set the new program record, which was previously held by Kamryn Cummings, who shot 67 on two occasions in October 2017.
Huse leads the field with ten birdies through two rounds of play.
The Rambelles shot seven over par for the first round before coming in one stroke under par in round two.
The Rambelles sit three strokes behind leaders West Texas A&M and two strokes behind second-place Midwestern State.
The Rambelles were the best of all teams on par-4s, shooting +10 on those holes, seven strokes better than the next-best team, the Lady Buffs.
The Rambelles tallied the most pars (119) and shot the fewest bogeys (26) among the 15-team field.
Mia Clarke, like Huse, is three-under after two rounds of play as the Rambelles are in a four-way tie of second place, sitting two strokes off the lead.
Beth Norton is three-over after two rounds of play, good enough for 17
th place, while
Johanna Öhrling is 36
th and
Kara Knight is 45
th, shooting nine-over and 11-over, respectively.
Competing as an individual,
Emma Cook shot 15-over, highlighted by improving by nine strokes from round one to two.
The Rambelles tee off for the final round tomorrow morning, with a shotgun start scheduled for 9 a.m.
