Pueblo, Colo. – The Angelo State women's golf team finished day one of action at the NCAA West Regional in 12
th place at Pueblo Country Club.
Forecasted inclement weather in the area led to a change in format, with teams playing 36 holes today; however, play was called at 7:30 p.m. local time due to darkness, with the Rambelles needing only a couple more holes to finish the second round.
Christine Huse paced the Rambelles, carding a 76 (+5) in round one to sit in 21st place. She was nine-over in round two with two holes left to play.
The British duo of
Mia Clarke and
Beth Norton follow their freshman teammate in 53
rd and 61
st, respectively. Clarke was nine shots above par in round one, while Norton was 13.
Caitlin Vanderkruk and
Kelsey Kline each got through the second round before the suspension of competition. Vanderkruk shot an eight-over in round one, while Kline cut six strokes from her first to second round.
Action tomorrow begins at 8 a.m. local time to complete the second round. Clarke and Norton have one more hole to play, while Huse has two more.
The third and final round will start at approximately 11 a.m. local time.
