Amarillo, Texas – The Angelo State women's golf team set a new program record for 54-hole scoring, carding an 886 team score after three rounds of competition at the WT Fall Invitational.
The new record bests the previous best mark, an 888 shot at the King Alfred Spring Invite in March 2023, by two strokes.
The Rambelles finished seventh overall in the 15-team field, finishing behind West Texas A&M, Midwestern State, Odessa College, Cameron, Simon Fraser, and Cal State Monterey Bay.
The Rambelles bested four LSC opponents in Lubbock Christian, UT Permian Basin, Western New Mexico, and Texas A&M-Kingsville.
Christine Huse finished tied for tenth, three over par. Her tournament score of 216 is tied for the second-best 54-hole score in program history.
Mia Clarke and
Beth Norton finished tied for 18
th, seven shots over par. The duo's 220 scores are tied for the fifth-best 54-hole score in program history.
Kara Knight finished 51
st, shooting 19-over, and
Johanna Öhrling finished 61
st, shooting 24-over.
Emma Cook, the Rambelles' individual golfer, shot 29-over for the tournament.
The Rambelles are back in action on October 13-14 at the West Regional Preview in Pueblo, Colo.
