Lubbock, Texas – The Angelo State track and field teams wrapped up their weekend at the Corky Classic, hosted by Texas Tech inside the Sports Performance Center.
The Rambelles and Rams each collected a provisional mark, bringing the team's total to 11 through their first two meets.
William Opare ran a 21.16 in the 200m dash, finishing eighth in a field full of Division I runners. Opare's time is the third-fastest in Division II this season and the best in the conference by over 0.4 seconds.
The men's 4x400m relay team, consisting of Jahleel Armstrong,
Taylor Briggs, Bautista Diamante, and Opare, finished tenth overall as they crossed the line with a time of 3:09.73, defeating a dozen Division I relay teams.
The women's 4x400m relay team of Keagan Galmor,
Kylie Frush, Helene Wiethoff, and
Lainey Jernigan notched a provisional time of 3:50.63. Their time is the ninth-fastest in Division II this season.
The Rambelles and Rams are off next weekend before they return to competition on January 30-31 at the New Mexico Team Open, hosted by the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque.
