SAN ANGELO – The Angelo State men's basketball team dropped its second successive game this evening, falling to Texas A&M-Kingsville 67-64 inside the Junell Center/Stephens Arena.
Despite being down at halftime, the Rams held a lead by as much as seven points in the second half, but the Javelinas made their last five field goal attempts, including two threes, to seal the win.
The Rams struggled from the field, shooting 39.6 percent overall and 23.8 percent from three.
Kailon Nicholls led the Rams in scoring with 14 points. He made a pair of threes and assisted four times.
Davon Scott scored 13 points in 23 minutes off the bench, also making a pair of threes.
Jhordan Ryan recorded his fourth consecutive double-double with 12 points and ten rebounds as he played all 40 minutes for the Rams. He blocked a pair of shots and converted six of their eight free-throw attempts.
Jesaiah McWright scored nine points while
Jordan Crawford recorded eight points and grabbed nine rebounds.
The Rams are 12-9 on the season and 3-7 in conference play. They have a rematch against the Javelinas on Saturday afternoon in Kingsville.
