Wichita, Kan. – The Angelo State multi athletes from the track and field team –
Travis Matthews for the men and
Abril Okon,
Gracie Stephens, and
Kylie Frush for the women – wrapped up their time in Kansas this afternoon at the Coach Wilson Invitational hosted by Wichita State.
Matthews started off the heptathlon strongly, finishing second in the 60m dash, long jump, and the shot put. He finished fourth overall with 4,133 points.
On the women's side, Okon tallied 3,384 points, good enough for a provisional mark in the pentathlon. She won the first two events, the 60m hurdles and the high jump.
Stephens finished fourth in the field with 3,107 points, and Frush finished eighth with 2,692 points.
The Rambelles and Rams compete this weekend at the New Mexico Team Open.
