Zoey Sifuentes Named LSC Freshman of the Week

Richardson, Texas – Angelo State softball third baseman Zoey Sifuentes was named the Lone Star Conference Freshman of the Week following a standout debut weekend on her home field, Mayer Softball Field, during the 2026 George and Ola McCorkle Challenge presented by West Texas Steel.

Sifuentes hit .500 for the weekend with three doubles and three RBI as the Rambelles went 4-1 across the weekend.

The Lamesa product had a .706 on-base percentage and an .800 slugging percentage.

She scored four runs, drew five walks, and was hit by a pair of pitches.

The Kinesiology student is tearing the cover off the ball, hitting .480 with a .629 on-base percentage and a team-high .920 slugging percentage.

Eight of her 12 hits have gone for extra bases, and she ranks second on the team in RBI (12) and walks (7).

Her six doubles are tied for the best mark in the LSC, and she is third in the LSC with a 1.549 OPS.

This is Sifuentes' first career award.

The Rambelles, who are ranked second in the country, make a trip to Florida this weekend for five games.
