Louisville, Ky. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) has released its yearly Division II Player and Pitcher of the Year Watchlist, and Angelo State freshman
Zoey Sifuentes is featured as one of the 15 selections from the South Central region and one of 118 from across the country, the organization announced this afternoon.
Sifuentes, a product of Lamesa, is one of three freshmen from the region to find her name on the watchlist.
The Kinesiology major has made an immediate impact in the heart of the Rambelles' lineup, hitting .438 with seven home runs while slugging .819.
The three-time LSC Freshman of the Week leads all freshmen in Division II with 15 doubles and 42 RBI, with both marks ranking in the top ten among all players.
The National Pitcher and Player of the Year will be announced on May 27
th, the day before the beginning of the Division II National Championships.
Sifuentes and the Rambelles are in action this afternoon and tomorrow against UT Permian Basin.
