Rambelles, No. 12 Rams Compete at Jarvis Scott Open

SAN ANGELO – The Angelo State Track and Field teams compete in their final indoor meet before the Lone Star Conference Championships as they travel up to Lubbock to compete in the Jarvis Scott Open hosted by Texas Tech.

LAST TIME OUT
The Multis of Angelo State track and field competed at the Coach Wilson Invitational hosted by Wichita State, while the rest of the Rams and Rambelles recorded ten provisional marks at the New Mexico Team Open in Albuquerque.

Marie Schuler recorded a conference-best mark in the weight throw with a throw of 57'-10.5" (17.64m), while Rami Balti clocked a 46.68 in the 400m dash, the second-best time in Division II this season.

For his performance, Balti was named the USTFCCCA Division II National Athlete of the Week.

  • The Rams and Rambelles lead the Lone Star Conference in five events: Marie Schuler (weight throw), William Opare (200 meters), Rami Balti (400 meters), Kylyie Paden (pole vault), and the 4x400m relay team of Jahleel Armstrong, Opare, Taylor Briggs, and Balti.
  • The Rams hold 16 provisional marks while the Rambelles have tallied seven provisionals.
  • The Rambelles have the lone provisional mark in the weight throw and the pole vault and own three of the LSC's nine provisional marks in the pentathlon.
