Lubbock, Texas – The Angelo State track and field teams completed their final regular season indoor meet this afternoon at the Jarvis Scott Open hosted by Texas Tech.
The Rambelles and Rams walked away with nine qualifying marks from the weekend, with the Rambelles collecting three and the Rams accounting for the other six.
The men's 4x400m relay team of
Jahleel Armstrong,
William Opare,
Francis Patanpatan, and
Bautista Diamante finished sixth overall in the event with a time of 3:07.30, which is the second-fastest time in Division II history in the event.
The 4x400m relay team, consisting of
Lamont Reed,
Taylor Briggs,
Karl Patanpatan, and
Adrian Nethersole, finished 12
th overall in the field with a qualifying time of 3:11.62.
This is the seventh and eighth different provisional times the Rams have recorded this season in the event.
In the 200 meters,
William Opare (21.29 seconds),
Bautista Diamante (21.42 seconds), and
Lamont Reed (21.48 seconds) all recorded provisionals, with Diamante and Reed both improving on their season-best marks in the event.
Francis Patanpatan crossed the line in 47.43 seconds in the 400-meter dash, improving on his previous season-best time of a 48-flat, which he recorded in his previous outing in Lubbock at the Corky Classic.
For the Rambelles, the women's 4x4 relay team of
Keagan Galmor,
Lainey Jernigan,
Kylie Frush, and
Kinlee Lawlis posted a time of 3:46.73. This provisional mark is the best for ASU this season.
In the weight throw,
Kamryn Williams recorded a throw of 58'-8.5" (17.89m) in weight throw, finishing 10
th overall in the field, while teammate
Marie Schuler finished 11
th with a throw of 58'-4.5" (17.79m), improving upon her previously-set provisional mark.
The Rambelles and No. 12 Rams compete next in the LSC Championships, set to take place on February 27-28 in Alburquerque.
