RICHARDSON, Texas – The No. 11 Angelo State baseball team capped off a successful road trip to Alpine, Texas with some weekly accolades as
Austin Beck was named Lone Star Conference Hitter of the Week as announced by the league office Tuesday afternoon.
Beck, a redshirt senior pursuing his MBA, was red hot at the plate, hitting to the tune of a .625 batting average with a .700 on-base percentage and a 1.063 slugging percentage, posting a 1.763 OPS.
The Allen, Texas native accounted for 40 percent of the Rams' run production, driving in 10 runs and scoring 12 times. Beck now leads the league with eight doubles this season and is tied for atop the conference in RBIs (19) and steals (seven).
Beck and the Rams baseball team will be back in action at home when they host Oklahoma Christian in a four game series set to begin on Friday, Feb. 20 with the first pitch from Foster Field at 1
