Albuquerque, N.M. – The Angelo State track and field teams finished third following the conclusion of the Lone Star Conference Indoor Championships inside the Albuquerque Convention Center.
The Rambelles finished with 71 points, and the Rams tallied 89 points.
The women's highest-scoring event of the weekend was the weight throw, which saw
Kamryn Williams and
Marie Schuler finish first and second to claim 18 points in the event.
On the men's side, the 400m dash produced 23 points while the 200m dash followed closely behind with 21 points.
Williams collected her second medal of the weekend, finishing as the runner-up in the shot put with a mark of 44-1.5 (13.45 meters).
The women's 4x400m relay team of
Shackelia Green,
Kylie Frush,
Keagan Galmor, and
Lainey Jernigan posted a time of 3:43.09, finishing fourth in the event with the country's 11
th-fastest time in the event this season.
William Opare and
Rami Balti finished 1-2 in the 400m dash with times of 45.95 and 46.55, respectively. Those times rank second and sixth in the country, respectively.
Jahleel Armstrong finished fourth in the event with a season-best time of 47.22, an improvement on his previous provisional mark.
Opare also claimed the 200m dash title, crossing the line with a time of 20.89 seconds, the second-fastest time in Division II this season.
Lamont Reed claimed a bronze medal in 21.08 seconds, which ranks 11
th in the country.
The men's 4x400m relay team of Balti,
Francis Patanpatan,
Bautista Diamante, and Opare finished with a time of 3:10.71, finishing fourth and posting a provisional time in the event.
