Every Player Scores in Belles' Rout of Mustangs

SAN ANGELO, Texas – Every active player scored points as the Angelo State women's basketball team rolled past Western New Mexico 79-47 on Thursday night at the Junell Center-Stephens Arena.

The Rambelles won their fifth straight game and seventh in their last eight to improve to 10-9 overall and 8-5 in Lone Star Conference play.

Angelo State controlled the game on both ends, shooting 46.8% from the field, including 44.8% from 3-point range, and nearly 73% from the free-throw line. The Rambelles outrebounded Western New Mexico 45-32 and forced 21 turnovers, converting them into 26 points.

Taylor Grona led all scorers with 17 points and added seven assists and a block. Majik Esquivel followed with 16 points, six rebounds, three assists and a team-high three steals.

Keniah Williams scored 10 points with three rebounds, a block and a steal. Landry Morrow posted a team-high 11 rebounds to go with seven points, four assists, two steals and a block.

All active Rambelles scored in the win, including Stevi Lockhart (8 points), Briley Merket (7), Halle Hughes (5), Kenna Wood (4), Dragana Scepanovic (3) and Tristin Keller (2).

The Belles are back in action on Saturday, Feb. 7 when they host Sul Ross State at the Junell Center-Stephens Arena with the tipoff scheduled for 1 p.m.
